Ann Branch works for the European Commission in Brussels in the department for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
Ann leads the team working on social and inclusive entrepreneurship in the European Commission’s Department for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. Her team’s activities focus on policy development in these two fields as well as innovative EU funding support for social finance. She has worked for the EU institutions for 20 years on a range of EU policies and funding programmes. During this time she has led work on the cultural and creative sectors, the Erasmus+ programme, education for innovation, European social dialogue and industrial relations. In 2019 she was awarded the “Outstanding Public Social Intrapraneur of the Year Award” by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. She grew up in an Anglo-Finnish household in London. She has studied in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Oxford and Paris.
